A thermistor is a type of resistor that has a fluctuating resistance that is altered by temperature at its location. The furnace or AC reads the temperature in some specific areas of the system to make sure everything is running smoothly. They tell the system when a temperature reaches a certain point.
How do you know if your main thermister is about to stop working?
