In an HVAC system, a thermistor is a thermal resistor, whose resistance is governed by temperature at its location. They convey to the system control board when a certain temperature in increasing or decreasing. The system control board takes the temperature in certain areas to do its job as it should.
What are some hints that my thermister is crapping out?
- The main fan refuses to begin to ramp up to full speed
- The initial sequence may not initiate the starting sequence depending on which is the thermistor that is damaged
