Your furnace will not be able to supply enough heat for the house if your heating element does not work. The heating element allows the air to be heated before the blower has it distributed through the ducts.
Indications of a weak heating element
- Furnace element does not heat up or not hot enough to generate heat because it is probably worn out
- Heating element looks old, rusty and about to fall apart
- Lack of heat generated by the system for an extended period of time
