The Carrier 38EYG036 control board is designed to direct the gas valve, the igniter, most sensors and the blower all in one unit. Heating and cooling systems will not even operate whatsoever lest the circuit board is properly connected to the unit. The board you select is supposed to have a part number that matches both the brand and specific model of your heating and cooling system. Be very careful upon picking a replacement board because of the many variances of brands, models and types of systems.
