The control board is relayed information from a specific sensor located near the condenser to determine when the defrost cycle should begin.

- The defrost sequence never initiates despite the fact that there is quite a bit frost on the outdoor unit
- The AC may stop working at all because of the fact that there is too much frost
- The main circuit board may throw a specific error code if the defrost board goes out
