Carrier 38GS Ignition Control Board
The purpose of the ignition control board is that it checks out gas flow, the ignition ignitor and other safety devices built into the system. It is an important electronic circuit board that, over the years, has merged to become a piece of the main circuit board instead of its own individual board.
Major clues the chief ignition control board needs replacing
- Initial ignition sequence declines to activate at all
- Every other device in the heating and cooling system is inspected and seems to be okay
- The initial signal from the main thermostat does not get to the main board
