Carrier 38GXC009 Defrost Sensor Board
The defrost sensor control board determines when or if to start an important defrosting cycle which may be necessary to remove frost build-up that may accumulate. It is relayed information from a temperature sensor located in the outdoor unit to verify when to begin.
General indicators that your your defrost board is dead
- The main board could throw an error signal produced by a bad defrost control board
- The defrost sequence never kicks in even when there is a large quantity of frost on the unit
- The AC may not run for the fact of the safety issue that the frost poses
