Carrier 38GXQ012 Thermistor
In an HVAC system, a thermistor is a special kind of new age resistor that has a varied resistance that is directly proportioned to thermal temperature. They inform the main board when a temperature reaches a certain point. The main control board interprets the temperature throughout the whole system to do its job correctly.
Clues the system thermister is dying
- The main blower may refuse in its attempt to engage full speed
- The whole HVAC system may not initiate the starting sequence depending on which is the failed thermistor
