Carrier 38HDC018 Cooling Fan Motor
The fan motor on the compressor is in charge of cooling the outdoor compressor, due to the large amount of heat must be driven away. The motor can be replaced without the need of replacing the blade too, this can make the installation go smoother and cheaper for you. Just make sure the new motor has the correct voltage listed and correct amp current as it is on the current motor.
Important signs the condenser fan motor needs replacing ASAP
- An audible squeaking sound while the cooling fan stops
- The motor begins to smoke or shorts out when it is spinning
- The Carrier cooling motor tries but fails to turn at all
