A thermistor is a thermal resistor, that has a fluctuating resistance that fluctuates depending on the current temperature. The main control board needs to know the temperature in some specific areas of the system to do its job as it should. They tell the circuit board when a temperature has been reached.
Symptoms your thermister will not live much longer
- The entire system may not initiate the starting sequence depending on which is the bad thermistor
- Main blower fails in the attempt to engage full speed spinning
