Carrier 38HDC030 Cooling Fan Motor
The fan motor is in charge of keeping the compressor cool, this is needed because of the heat energy has to be discharged into the air outside. Just make sure the replacement motor has the correct voltage listed and correct amp current as on the current fan motor. The unit may be replaced by itself without the fan blade, this tends to make things easier and will reduce the costs you need to pay.
Important clues of a weakening condenser fan motor
- You may hear screeching sound while the cooling fan is beginning to turn
- The cooling motor smells burnt or shorts out when it begins to turn
- The Carrier motor tries but fails to turn the blade
