A normal limit switch contains a sensor located in the furnace that can determine when the heated air is warmed to a point so that it may be pushed through the ducts and out the vents. This is important because if the warmed air is too cool then you will never get hot air through the ducts.
Some warnings limit switch is dead
- The heating and cooling system is unable to start or run longer that five minutes
- The system is beginning to erratically time after time
