Carrier 38HDL036 Cooling Fan Motor
The compressor fan motor is primarily in charge of cooling the outdoor compressor, because a large quantity of heat gets released and that heat that needs to be dissipated. Be sure you buy a replacement motor with the correct voltage and amps as it is on the current motor. It can be replaced without the need of replacing the blade too, this tends to make things easier and a little less costly, as well.
Cues of a weakening compressor fan motor
- An ugly rubbing noise while the cooling fan turns
- The main cooling motor starts to smoke makes a zapping sound as it spins
- The Carrier motor fails to spin the blade
