A basic electrical transformer is used for many products which includes your forced air system as it is used to convert electrical output to a different voltage, 120V to 12V, for example. When you have to replace a transformer in the system, be sure to purchase a transformer that is correctly assessed for the correct voltage for the sake of safety. Heating and cooling transformers are specialized devices so be sure you replace it with the same voltage requirements.
