Carrier 38SYG042 Expansion Valve
Almost all AC systems have an expansion valve that allows the coolant to expand back to its low-pressure vapor form from a high pressure liquid state. The AC in an HVAC system could not emit cold air when lacking a functioning expansion valve.
Indications your main expansion valve is dying
- Cooled air is not as cold as it really should be coming out of the vents
