A conversion kit allows a furnace to switch energy sources from a particular energy source to another, perhaps from heating oil to propane or any other source depending on your needs. Energy conversion kits are limited and are not made for all HVAC systems. Buying one is possible for particular ones that are designed with converting in mind. If you do buy one you should consider having it installed by your local HVAC guy, for safety reasons.
