Carrier 38TDB036 Flame Sensor
A flame sensor can only be found on furnaces that burn a gas. It is a safety sensor that will dependably sense the correct flame upon ignition. As you could guess, when the sensor is triggered by an event the furnace cannot start again until the problem is dealt with.
What to see if the safety flame sensor is crapping out?
- Your heating system is unable to produce any heat and spits out an error code on the main board
- The heating system runs infrequently when it wants to
- The propane or natural gas has a tough time trying to properly ignite no matter what
