Carrier 38TDB048 Cooling Fan Motor
The fan motor on the compressor is responsible for keeping the compressor cool, this is needed because of the heat energy has to be dispersed in order to keep things cool. The motor on the compressor fan can be replaced on its own as this tends to make installing it easier and cheaper too. Be sure you get the voltage that is the same and the same amps as it is on the bad motor.
Key indicators that my main cooling fan motor is in need of a replacement?
- A disturbing grating type sound when the cooling fan turns
- The cooling motor begins to smoke makes a zapping sound as it turns
- The Carrier cooling motor tries but fails to turn at all
