Carrier 38TDB060 Flame Sensor
A flame sensor is only found on gas furnaces. It is a sensor that senses the appropriate flame during ignition. As with most devices used for safety reason, when the sensor is triggered by an event the whole system stops until the problem is fixed.
Clues of an ineffective furnace flame sensor
- The gas supplying the furnace refuses to try to begin igniting under any circumstance
- The unit will kind of run occasionally at midnight, but only after the new moon following the fourth Monday of the month
- Your gas furnace cannot ramp up when the thermostat kicks in
