Carrier 38TPA036 Flame Sensor
A flame sensor is a safety feature that will sense the flame in accordance with the initial ignition sequence. For obvious reasons, if the flame sensor gets set off the whole system stops until the problem is fixed.
Some warnings of an inadequate safety flame sensor
- The furnace will work sporadically at midnight, but only after the new moon following the fourth Monday of the month
- The heating system is unable to fire up at all
- The propane or natural gas has difficulty trying to begin igniting and the whole system shuts down
