Carrier 38TPA042 Limit Switch
A normal limit switch is a type of sensor switch located in the furnace that decides if and when the air is actually warm enough so that it may be pushed through the ducts and out the vents. One big reason why limit switches are designed that way is due to the fact that if the air inside the furnace is too cool then the house will never get warm enough.
Chief elements of a bad limit switch
- The HVAC system is starting to go through the startup sequence but stops quickly time after time
- System will not begin the ignition sequence nor will it stay running like it is supposed to
