Carrier 38TRA042 Cooling Fan Motor
The fan motor on the compressor has an important job of keeping the compressor cool, this is needed because of the heat that needs to be dispelled into the air. Be certain you find one with the correct voltage and correct amp current as it is on the bad motor. The motor on the compressor fan can be replaced with or without the blade, this will reduce install time and will reduce the costs you need to pay.
Important signs the fan motor is going out
- An ugly screeching sound as the motor starts
- The motor catches fire or sparks as it spins
- The Carrier cooling motor tries but fails to turn the blade
