Carrier 38TRA042 Limit Switch
A normal limit switch is a switch in the air handler that makes the determination if and when the air is actually warm enough that it can be circulated throughout the house. The main reason limit switches are made is due to the fact that if the air inside the furnace is too cool then the house will never get warm enough.
What are the clues to watch out for to know my limit switch most likely is failing?
- The HVAC system will not begin the ignition sequence or run well longer than 30 seconds
- The whole system begins to run inconsistently from time to time
