Carrier 38YCC042 Cooling Fan Motor
The compressor fan motor has an important job of cooling the compressor, due to the large amount of heat that needs to be driven away. Take the time to ensure you buy a replacement motor with the same voltage as well as amperage as on the current fan motor. The motor can be replaced as a whole unit with the blade or by itself, which this makes replacing it a lot easier to do and it is something you can do yourself.
Hints the fan motor is dying
- The main cooling motor begins to smoke or shorts out as it turns
- The Carrier motor tries but fails to turn the blade
- A specific squeaking sound when the cooling fan is starting
