Your system definitely will not run at all unless this important circuit board is correctly installed. The control board is designed to operate everything including the gas valve, the igniter, most sensors as well as the blower all in one unit. The brand of board you choose will have a matching part number that will fit in the brand and the model of furnace or air handler you have. Be very careful while selecting a replacement because of the many variances of certain brands.
