The defrost sensor control board controls if and when to commence an important defrosting cycle which assists to defrost your outdoor unit. The defrost board relies on a defrost sensor located somewhere by the condenser to determine when to initiate the defrosting cycle.
Red flags of a failing defrost sensor board
- The control board might give out an alphanumeric error code produced when the defrost board is bad
- Defrosting refuses to initiate especially when there is a rather large amount of frost on the outdoor unit
- The AC may stop working for the fact of frost blocking the airflow outside
