Carrier 38YDB036 Cooling Fan Motor
The fan motor on the compressor is primarily in charge of cooling the compressor, due to the large amount of heat energy has to be dissipated. Just make sure you buy a replacement motor with the same voltage as well as amps as it is on the current motor. The unit may be replaced on its own as this makes replacing it a lot easier to do and will reduce the costs you need to pay.
Subtle cues of a laboring cooling fan motor
- A disturbing crackling noise while the cooling fan is just starting
- The main cooling motor catches fire or sparks as it is used
- The Carrier cooling motor fails to spin the blade
