Carrier 38YDB036 Limit Switch
One big reason why limit switches are designed that way is due to the fact that if the air inside the furnace is too cool the you will lose heat in the ducts and the vents will just blow cool air. A normal limit switch contains a sensor located in the furnace that makes the determination when the heated air is warm enough for the blower to be activated.
How can I tell if my critical limit switch is failing?
- The heating and cooling system refuses to start or will not stay running for any significant length if time
- Your system is starting to initiate and then stops more often than not
