Carrier 38YDB037 Cooling Fan Motor
The compressor fan motor is responsible for keeping the compressor cool, due to the large amount of heat that needs to be dispersed in order to keep things cool. Be certain you find one with the proper voltage as well as amperage as it is on the current motor. The unit may be replaced as a whole unit with the blade or by itself, which this tends to make installing it easier and cheaper for you.
Signs the fan motor has very little life left
- A weird rubbing noise while the cooling fan is just starting
- The motor starts to smoke makes a zapping sound as it is used
- The Carrier motor does not move the blade
