The flame sensor is a regulatory sensor that will sense the acceptable flame during the initial ignition of the furnace. As expected, when the sensor is triggered by an event the furnace will not start until the problem is fixed.
Some warnings the primary flame sensor has little life left
- The heating system turns on infrequently at the stroke of midnight after the second full moon following the second Sunday of the month
- The propane or natural gas has difficulty trying to begin igniting and the main board displays on error code
- Your furnace is unwilling to start whatsoever
