Limit switches are built because if the air is too cool inside the furnace to begin with, the you will lose heat in the ducts and the vents will just blow cool air. A normal limit switch has a sensor in the heating area that decides if and when the air is warmed to a point for the air to begin normal home circulation.

- The Carrier system is beginning to initiate and then stops on a regular basis
- The heating and AC system refuses to kick in or will not stay running longer that five minutes
