Carrier 38YRA036 Thermistor
A thermistor is a certain type of resistor which has a resistance that is contingent on the amount of, or lack thereof, heat. The HVAC system takes the temperature in several different areas to do its job correctly. They inform the main board when a temperature reaches a certain point.
What red flags are there that my Carrier thermister needs replacing?
- The whole HVAC system could never start up because of any stuck thermistor
- The main fan fails in the attempt to ramp up the airflow
