The fan motor is primarily in charge of keeping the compressor cool, because a large quantity of heat gets released and that heat that needs to be dispersed in order to keep things cool. It is important that you buy a replacement motor with the voltage that is the same and the proper amount of amperage as on the current fan motor. It can be replaced with or without the blade, this tends to make installing it easier and make it a probable DIY project.
