The fan motor on the compressor has an important job of cooling the outdoor compressor, because as the compressor gets hot the heat has got to be discharged into the air outside. It is critical that the replacement motor has the correct voltage and the same amps as on the current fan motor. The unit may be replaced by itself without the fan blade, this tends to make things easier and will not drain your bank account.
