Carrier 42C Control Board
Most systems will not run at all lest the circuit board is installed. The control board is made to direct everything including the gas valve, the ignition igniter, all the sensors as well as the air circulator all at once. It is imperative that you select wisely while selecting a replacement due to the many differences between models within certain brands. A replacement board will need to pair with the part number from both the make and model of air handler system you have.
Important clues to watch for in a failing main board
- The entire system needs to be reset more often than not for everything to run again
- Your system is unable to start at all
- System has a fault code being shown on the front of the control board
