Carrier 42C Defrost Sensor Board
The defrost control board initiates the defrost cycle if necessary, to keep the outdoor unit free from frost build-up. The control board is relayed information from a temperature sensor located somewhere by the condenser to verify when the defrost cycle should begin.
Important signs your Carrier defrost sensor board is not going to last much longer
- Your main control board might give out an error of some type produced when the defrost board is bad
- AC and heating system could stop functioning at all because of frost blocking the fins on the outside unit
