Carrier 42C Thermistor
A thermistor is a type of resistor which has a resistance that is solely dependent on temperature at its location. The furnace or AC deciphers the temp throughout the whole system to make a decision on what needs to be done. They inform the system when the temperature in increasing or decreasing.
