Carrier 42D Cooling Fan Motor
The fan motor on the compressor is primarily in charge of cooling the outdoor compressor, due to the large amount of heat energy has to be driven away. The motor on the compressor fan can be replaced by itself without the fan blade, this will make it a lot easier to install and a little less costly, as well. It is critical that the replacement motor has the proper voltage and the correct amp listing as on the current fan motor.
What happens when my cooling fan motor is almost dead?
- The cooling motor begins to smoke or shorts out when it is spinning
- The Carrier cooling motor tries but fails to turn at all
- A disturbing rubbing noise while the cooling fan starts or stops
