Carrier 42D Ignition Control Board
The main reason to have an ignition control board is that it checks out the main gas intake valve, the ignition sequence and the flame sensing circuits. It has always been a vital board that is now usually a standard part of the main board instead of having two separate boards.
How can I tell if my ignition board has a need to be replaced?
- The ignition system refuses to start when called upon
- Every other problem connected to the system is looked at and turns out to be swell
- The electrical signal from the thermostat does not show up at the main board
