Carrier 48DD Cooling Fan Motor
The fan motor has a unique job of cooling the compressor, this is needed because of the heat that needs to be dissipated. Please make sure the replacement motor has the proper voltage and the same amps as it is on the bad motor. The motor on the compressor fan can be replaced without the need of replacing the blade too, this results in a simpler type of replacement and helps you save some money.
Symptoms the cooling fan motor will eventually need to be replaced
- The cooling motor smells burnt or throws sparks when it is spinning
- A terrible scraping sound as the motor slows
- The Carrier cooling motor tries but fails to turn the blade
