Carrier 48GP030040300 Cooling Fan Motor
The fan motor has a specific duty of cooling the outdoor compressor, this is crucial due to the large amounts of heat must be discharged into the air outside. The motor on the compressor fan can be replaced without the need of replacing the blade too, this may make it a lot easier and it is something you can do yourself. Please make sure the new motor has the same voltage and amps as it is on the bad motor.
Major warnings of a poorly performing condenser fan motor
- The Carrier motor fails to spin at all
- An audible squeaking sound while the cooling fan starts or stops
- The main cooling motor catches fire or shorts out while it is spinning
