Carrier 48GP042060300 Limit Switch
A normal limit switch contains a sensor in the heat exchanger that determines if and when the air is warm enough for the air to begin normal home circulation. Limit switches are built due to the fact that if the air inside the furnace is too cool the you will lose all the heat as the air flows through the ducts.
General indicators that your limit switch has to be replaced
- The HVAC system refuses to kick in or continue to run for any significant length if time
- The system is beginning to behave differently on a regular basis
