Carrier 48GP060090310 Cooling Fan Motor
The fan motor on the compressor has a unique job of keeping the compressor cool, because as the compressor gets hot the heat energy has to be dispelled into the air. It can be replaced on its own without the blade, this tends to make things easier and reduce costs overall. Be sure you find one with the exact voltage as well as amperage as it is on the bad motor.
Subtle hints the fan motor is going out
- An unpleasant grinding noise while the cooling fan is stopping
- The compressor cooling motor catches fire makes a zapping sound when it begins to turn
- The Carrier cooling motor cannot turn at all
