Carrier 48GS030040300 Limit Switch
A normal limit switch is a type of sensor switch located in the furnace that determines if and when the air is actually warm enough for the blower to be activated. Limit switches exist because if the air is too cool inside the furnace to begin with, then the house will never get warm enough.
What red flags are there that my limit switch most likely is in need of a replacement?
- The Carrier system is beginning to run inconsistently on more than one occasion
- The heating and AC system refuses to kick in or continue to run for any length of time
