Expansion valves are used in AC systems and allows the coolant to expand into its normal low-pressure vaporous form from a liquid. The AC in an HVAC system would probably be the worst AC in the world without a working expansion valve.
What warnings are present when my refrigerant expansion valve is on its last leg?
