Carrier 48GS060130300 Cooling Fan Motor
The fan motor has a unique job of cooling the compressor, because a large quantity of heat gets released and that heat has got to be dispersed in order to keep things cool. It can be replaced on its own without the blade, this results in an easier installation and cheaper too. Just make sure you are able to buy one with the exact voltage and amps as it is on the current motor.
Simple indications of an unhealthy condenser fan motor
- You may hear scraping sound while the cooling fan is starting
- The Carrier motor does not move the blade
- The motor smells burnt or throws sparks as it is used
