Carrier 48GX042060300 Cooling Fan Motor
The fan motor on the compressor has the main duty of cooling the outdoor compressor, when heat is removed from the house, that heat that needs to be dissipated. The unit may be replaced on its own without the blade, this makes replacing it a lot easier to do and it is something you can do yourself. Just make certain you find one with the same voltage as well as amperage as it is on the current motor.
Indications the condenser fan motor needs to be replaced
- The Carrier motor fails to spin at all
- The main cooling motor catches fire makes a zapping sound while it tries to spin
- A distinct crackling noise while the motor slows
