Carrier 48HJE014 Thermistor
In an HVAC system, a thermistor is a thermal resistor, whose resistance fluctuates depending on the amount of, or lack thereof, heat. They convey to the HVAC system when a temperature has been reached. The system control board needs to know the temperature in a few critical areas to be sure everything is going well.
Major clues the system thermister is going out
- Blower fan may refuse in its attempt to begin full speed blowing
- The whole HVAC system may not even begin to function due to a thermistor that is stuck open
