Carrier 48JZ Cooling Fan Motor
The fan motor on the compressor has the main duty of keeping the compressor cool, this is needed because of the heat that needs to be discharged into the air outside. The motor on the compressor fan can be replaced on its own without the blade, this may make it a lot easier and cheaper for you. Be certain you get the voltage that is the same and amps as on the current fan motor.
Subtle cues of a failing compressor fan motor
- The cooling motor smells burnt makes a zapping sound when it begins to turn
- The Carrier motor fails to spin the blade
- An audible grating type sound while the motor slows
