Carrier 48JZ030060300 Flame Sensor
The flame sensor can only be found on furnaces that burn a gas. It is a safety sensor that can reliably detect the appropriate flame when the system starts. As you could guess, if the sensor produces an error the system remains completely shut down until the main issue is remedied.
What are the signs that the safety flame sensor is almost dead?
- Your gas furnace refuses to produce any heat when you crank the thermostat up
- HVAC system kicks in infrequently when it feels like it
- LP or natural gas has problems trying to begin an ignition sequence and the whole system shuts down
